This is a new direction and an experiment with color.

Stephen calls this the “Happy Series” because it is based on bright vivid oil colors that evoke a sense of happiness. It is clear to everyone who sees them in person that they are truly “happy paintings.”

This series looks like no other artist's work and is all about how one color plays on another. The oil paint is thick and lush and the cows can be any color as can everything else. Artistic license is pushed to the extreme in this artwork.

He plans to do many more canvases in this style because there are so many possibilities and challenges in regard to color and that's what this exercise is all about. Color is fun and the juxtaposition is a party in this series!
