Still life paintings have always been a true inspiration.

Whether painted in a photorealistic or impressionistic style, still life painting has been a passion of Stephen's.

Inspired by still lifes painted by the Old Masters, incorporating a salmon or a jack rabbit with fruits and vegetables, Stephen loves the realism that a great still life brings to life!

One of his favorite still life paintings is simply a branch of black berries on a plate. It's on a very small canvas hanging in the De Young Museum in San Francisco. It's meticulously painted and more real-looking than a photograph.
