The “Fish Series” is not a typical example of fish painted in their natural environments.

Instead Stephen blends very real looking fish with beautiful gradations and abstract backgrounds that complement their exotic colors, making a marriage of two styles that don't look like anything else.

This style requires mixed mediums, and whether on canvas, illustration board or watercolor paper, the dies and acrylics create a completely unique visual in a sea of lush organic blends.

All of the paintings on this page are large, typically 30"x40", and are very unique - more of an abstract than “just a painting of fish.” The fish are only used to provide depth and a sparkle of color in the design.
